Mother slams ‘postcode lottery’ (Channel 4)
A GP accused health managers of operating a postcode lottery because they will fund only one cochlear implant for her profoundly deaf child. Hampshire Primary Care Trust is allowing one implant at the cost of £33,000 for 11-month-old Ellie Wheatley, from Winchester in Hampshire.
