Iowa Lottery Cashes In (KIMT Mason City)

Lottery Ticket Sales Surge to New Heights in Kentucky (WBKO Bowling Green)
Though many area residents claim their money’s tight, Kentuckians are apparently using their spare change on lottery tickets. The Kentucky Lottery is reporting new record high sales for the state with ticket sales up about 4.6% from last year. Now, some area residents are sharing their own theories as to why ticket sales are surging.

Iowa Lottery Reports Sales of Nearly $250 Million (KCRG-TV9 Cedar Rapids)
DES MOINES (AP) - The Iowa Lottery is reporting a record year, with sales of nearly $250 million. The sales in fiscal year 2008 are the highest since the lottery began in 1985. That excludes the period when the lottery operated Touchplay video games that later were shut down by lawmakers.
