Suffolk police issue warning about lottery scam (The Virginian-Pilot)
SUFFOLK Police are investigating an attempted scam involving a fake lottery prize. According to police a resident received a letter containing what appeared to be a check for almost $4,000. The letter instructed the resident to send almost $3,000 to cover taxes on the winnings. The resident did not respond but contacted police.
